What is Wheelchair Rugby?

GB Wheelchair Rugby is a four-a-side sport played indoors on a basketball court; a mixed-gender sport, men and women play on the same teams. Athletes are classified by the level of impairment they have and the classification system ensures each team is fielded fairly with athletes of mixed classifications. The discipline of the sport played at the Paralympic Games specifically caters to athletes with higher-level impairments, however the more-recently launched WR5s is a five-a-side, mixed-gender, sport which is open to anyone with a physical disability. GBWR also offers opportunities for junior athletes to train and compete. Find out more at gbwr.org.uk.
